FUMC Day School admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the programs and activities of the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies or admissions policies.
All new students must have current vaccines in order to attend FUMC Preschool and Parents' Day Out. If a child has a medical condition which requires an altered schedule of vaccines or no vaccines, we will consider making an exemption. Please note, the MTHFR gene variation is not considered a valid reason to grant an exemption. FUMC Day School follows the CDC Guidelines.
The school year begins in September, although students may start any time during the year, provided a space is available in the classroom. Because we keep our child-teacher ratios low, we have a limited number of available spaces.
A child is put on the wait list when contact is made with the Preschool or Parents' Day Out programs over the phone, by email or in person. Separate lists are kept for each age level. Priority spots are given to school staff, siblings of current students and FUMC church members. When a spot becomes available, parents are called in order of the placement on the wait list and have 48 hours to accept the spot. If there is no response or the parent denies, we will move to the next name on the list. The wait list does not carry over from year to year.
